Streetlab, a key player in autonomy

Our history

Streetlab arose in 2011 from the association of different actors: “Fondation Voir et Entendre” (Institute of Vision), “Caisse des Dépôts”, University of Pierre and Marie Curie, “Fédération des Aveugles de France”, “USSIF” and “BTP Consultants” with the support of the City of Paris, the Region of Ile-de-France and the Ministry of Higher Education and Research.

Located at the heart of the Institute of Vision, on the site of the Quinze-Vingts National Ophtalmology Hospital, the company aims to improve the autonomy, the mobility and the quality of life of visual impaired people and seniors.

To carry out its mission, Streetlab drives its actions and reflections around four main axes:

Streetlab is committed to tackling public health issues affecting nearly 2 million people by helping industry to respond to new market opportunities.
