Streetlab celebrates long-standing excellence in collaboration with Johnson & Johnson MedTech Vision following important milestones to be presented at ARVO

Paris, France, May 23, 2026

Streetlab, a premier R&D service company dedicated to advanced real-life functional vision exploration for the visually impaired, is proud to highlight its long-standing and successful made-to-order R&D service collaboration with Johnson & Johnson Medtech Vision (« J&J » or « Johnson & Johnson»). This collaboration culminates in significant clinical findings to be presented at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) 2026 annual meeting in Denver, USA.

A service model rooted in unique expert innovation

This service-based collaboration began when Johnson & Johnson approached Streetlab for its unique expertise and “one-of-a-kind” ecosystem in assessing functional vision. Streetlab, founded in 2011 as a spin-off service company from the Institut de la Vision, has acted as an R&D service provider, leveraging its multidisciplinary team of researchers, engineers, and clinical specialists to design tailored testing protocols and solutions to support J&J’s innovations in intraocular lenses.

Over the years, this relationship has matured into a powerful engine for clinical validation. By utilizing Streetlab’s specialized platforms – most notably its state-of-the-art driving simulator – Johnson & Johnson has successfully demonstrated the functional benefits that optical improvements in lens designs bring to daily life activities such as driving. The partnership’s effectiveness is underscored by two major presentations at ARVO.

“Our collaboration with Johnson & Johnson is a testament to the power of combining industry-leading medical technology with Streetlab’s specialized behavioral measurement tools for functional vision,” says Julien Adrian, Researcher. “Seeing our functional scenarios translate into validated clinical endpoints that directly impact patient safety and autonomy is a point of immense pride for our team.”

“Streetlab’s ability to design custom functional testing and to simulate complex, real-world environments like urban driving allows our partners to move beyond traditional eye exams,” adds Colas Authié, Head of Science and Innovation. “We provide the objective data needed to prove a treatment’s true therapeutic benefit.”

Streetlab’s outlook: accelerating the future of ophthalmology

Streetlab is committed to accelerating the journey from medical innovation to market maturity. Having demonstrated a repeatable, high-impact R&D model for global leaders in pharma and medtech like J&J, Streetlab is now open for collaborations with other industrial innovators. We offer a unique capability to design de novo, tailor-made functional evaluation protocols across multiple eye disease segments. For companies seeking to validate their solutions through objective, standardized, and real-world performance metrics, Streetlab provides the definitive platform for functional proof-of-concept.
